we are getting a wooden playhouse this week and my boys want to paint it light blue but the only stain i could find was green and brown colours. We want it light blue, do we use normal paint then some varnish or something any tips ive seen playhouses multicolored before so what paint have they used?

have been scraping and sanding but not getting anywhere fast it has white emulsion on it i think? Is there an easier way.
its a wooden playhouse and needs protecting from the weather why would i use gloss.

have you tried using a paint stripper? The thick ones are usually the best. Call your local hardware store they can recommend the best for you and give you a price. This way you can compare prices to other places at the same time. Hope this helps. It really makes it a whole lot easier if you got a good stripper. Very little sanding needed, if any.

Where can I buy a REALLY fun children's wooden playhouse in Tyne and Wear?

There used to be a place out the back of Dobbies garden centres in Ponteland that did sheds and playhouses, but they've gone.
Does anyone know of any where that does good playhouses in Tyne and Wear.
I could buy off internet, but I'd rather see them and measure up.

If you were going to go to Ponteland, look up HC Whites & Sons, Pegswood in the Yellow Pages. They build custom sheds, so a playhouse to spec shouldn't be a problem.
If there's a similar business nearer home, they will offer the same service, it's quite a common request.
